Property Feature - Newman Street W1

When it comes to architecture, everyone has their preferred tastes . Ben here is a bit of a fan of 50’s-60’s Brutalism but, in my opinion, a good bit of early Georgian architecture in London is hard to beat. And that’s probably why there are various conservation areas across the city, because other people think so too!

Newman Street in Fitzrovia now has a real mix of styles. The sympathetic modern Rathbone Square at one end, built on the site of a former Royal Mail sorting office and the looming site of the BT Tower at the other. - Incidentally the development of Rathbone Square seems to have put paid to the below graffiti artwork attributed to Banksy.

Sandwiched between all this is Cleary House - a collection of recently renovated apartments spanning 5 floors above a cafe/deli. Completed to a high standard, the apartments offer spacious accommodation but crucially the original facade has been retailed despite the addition of an extra floor, which took place in the mid 90’s. Not only are they spacious, the apartments also have an abundance of natural light - and when it comes to property photography, we like that kind of thing! Take a look at a few pictures of our work!

Decorative Lights: Night Photography.

It is not really on to go around mentioning the C word before time… and especially while we’re still in November. However, in preparation for the festive time of year, the team at Pixangle have already begun writing cards and delivering gifts to our lovely clients. We like to get ahead of the game (especially given we were late to the party last year)

Speaking of being ahead of the game, the lovely people over at Emma’s Estate Agents in Streatham have been busy making their shiny new office all festive. We’re not talking just throwing some tinsel around either. No, this is stylish and sophisticated. We were only too happy to help capture their pretty creation. The one good thing about shorter days is you don’t have to wait until 10pm to get some night photography on the go! And you can use the low light to easily capture movement with blurred lights on vehicles travelling along.

Here is a small sample of the results! (just promise not to play any festive music, just yet!)

Night Photography: Hoarding and Signage in West Ealing

We do love the variety that our work provides!

We were recently asked to do some night photography of some illuminated hoarding and signage in West Ealing for our friends at Lavastar.

Night photography comes with its own set of challenges and rewards. Among the best features of this kind of work is playing with lights and long exposure for blurred and streaked effects, and the timing is crucial. It is also an unfortunate fact that the right kinds of vehicle never come along when you need them to provide the light and movement, and so patience is essential!

Nevertheless, the outcome was worth it. Here is a selection of our shots from the West Ealing night shoot.
